Extreme Weight Loss – How Alex Lost Over 216 lbs

Extreme Weight Loss -- Alex at 459 lbs.

Alex is 23-years-old, 459 lb. over-weight kid who suffered the loss of his mother from cancer near the end of his high school education. The loss of his mother shattered his world; consequently, he checked out of living a vivacious life by eating through his pain and grief, and became apathetic toward life in general.

Alex’s journey began when Extreme Weight Loss Makeover, pulled him out from the deep, dark pit of excuses he dug for himself which ultimately started his successful journey for a complete weight-loss body transformation.

Extreme Weight Loss Makeover immediately began removing all the junk food that was contributing to his obesity and replaced it with foods that were nutritionally dense by feeding his living cells to contribute to his extreme weight loss.

Over the next 90 days, even at his extreme weight, Alex was instructed through intense, weight-loss workouts that were very challenging, even discouraging at times due to his obesity and the difficulty he had with performing the exercises but he slowly overcame them through patience.

When the 90 days of weight-loss instruction was over, he immediately went back to old, self-defeating habits. Without the necessary support, Alex stopped exercising during his scheduled time and would rather play games or watch television instead.

Now it’s time for some boot camp to help whip his attitude and belief system into shape. His boot camp journey became a life-changing experience where Alex learned and practiced the skill of discipline and determination to overcome difficult boot camp challenges.

At the end of Alex’s 12-month weight-loss journey, he lost a whopping 216 lbs. of fatty excuses and regained his life to live it more abundantly.

So what do we learn from Alex’s weight-loss journey?

First, he was given a proven, weight-loss blueprint (i.e., an action plan, a to-do list) to help keep him on track.

Second, he received professional guidance, instruction, and accountability to get him on track with his weight-loss journey.

Third, he had to take massive action by following the weight-loss blueprint and to be consistent each and every day without fail and without excuses (even the valid ones), which means staying dedicated to his workouts, especially when he didn’t feel like working out, and by modifying his meals to a much healthier lifestyle, even when he didn’t feel like eating it.

Fourth, he had to learn about discipline, patience, and determination to see his goal of 200 plus pounds of weight loss a reality.

Fifth, dreams do come true when you’re willing to give it all you can by taking responsibility of your actions. Metaphorically speaking, when you slam yourself against life’s wall (like Alex did during the boot camp course), you don’t give up and quit but instead quickly lick your wounds and move forward by following your weight-loss blueprint until you reach your magnificent goal.

Last, no matter how much weight you want to lose or how little, you can achieve weight loss by removing self-limiting beliefs. If an excuse or an “I can’t” pops up into your head, look for a way to solve the problem rather than giving up on a solution.

Flip Your Excuses

Sigh: “I’m so frustrated – I’ll never get the hang of this.”

Affirm: “There’s a lot here I don’t understand. I’ve got a lot of questions and this is going to be a real challenge but I’m giving it 100% effort.”

To live life more abundantly, you must believe that you have the innate ability to resolve insurmountable obstacles that life throws at you.

Regained My Confidence to Pursue my Music Career

There is only one phrase that sums up how I feel about Extreme Burn: “It changed my life.”

When I started boot camp I was like many people, doing the everyday 9-6, but not really happy with myself. I was overweight: Eating too much, drinking too much, sleeping too little, not working out, and the list goes on.

Then one day, my good friend/co-worker told me about Extreme Burn, and I immediately signed up. At first, I was very challenged by the fact that I had to wake up at 6:30AM to make it for my 7:15AM class. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am NOT a morning person and I LOVE my sleep. I had a hard enough time making it to work at 9AM! But I knew that in order to reach my goals of being healthier, having more energy, slimmer and more confidence, there would need to be some sacrifice.

Little did I know that for my small sacrifice of waking up at 6:30AM, I have achieved all of the above plus MUCH more. Something AMAZING happens to you at boot camp. When you push yourself beyond any limit that you could imagine. When you are running that mile, although your chest is burning and you can barely breath, but you don’t stop. When you are sprinting up that hill and it seems like you’ll never get to the top, but you don’t stop. When you wake up in the morning and you are putting on your workout clothes, half asleep, feeling like you aren’t gonna make it to boot camp today, but then you look up and you are there. There is something in those moments of Extreme Burn when you just wanna give up, but through Von James’ encouragement, you don’t, that REALLY changes a person. Something that makes you feel like you can conquer the world! I feel like if I can do this, I can do anything!

Since I started boot camp, I have left my job to pursue my dream of doing music. Although very fulfilling, it hasn’t always been easy. But just like Extreme Burn, pushing yourself and choosing NOT to just live a mediocre life, is never easy. I have to push myself to keep going, even when I feel like giving up. Of course sometimes, you fall off course (and there were several times during boot camp when I got sidetracked). But the important part is that we get back up. And that’s a great lesson to learn in life. Forcing yourself to get back up when you’ve falling back into a lifestyle of eating unhealthily, not working out, or doing things that are counterproductive to you reaching your goals.

Luckily for me, I always knew I could count on Von James to check in on me. To ask if I will be attending the next session. To coach me through my unhealthy eating habits. To give me tips on what extra supplements to take so that I can increase my fat loss. That sense of accountability. Knowing that there is someone who really cares about my health, beyond just a “business”. I feel like I CAN’T let him down. And in me not letting him down, I’ve been able to reach my goal of losing over 20 lbs.
