Two Simple Whey Protein Recipes: 1) Easy 2) Ice Cream
It’s super low in calories, it’s convenient, and you can do it right now…
When your body is under mental and/or physical stress, your body requires more amino acids. Whey Protein has the highest amount of amino acids by far than any other food. Whey protein works amazingly well for muscle repair and recovery so when on an exercise program this is the best super food to feed your lean, sexy muscles.
If you’re concerned about bulking up then I would suggest eating less processed, fatty, and sugary foods to reduce your empty calories, while eating more nutritionally rich foods more consistently.
Not all whey protein products are created equal some contain heavy metals but that’s for a different topic.
John Brantley Cole Jr., who’s lost 40+ lbs. in four Extreme Burn sessions and hit his goal weight!, produced a short video called, “Whey Protein is NASTY: Secret to drinking it!“ It’s a convenient way to consume your whey protein without adding additional calories to your diet.
David Reis, who’s been losing a ton of inches and weight also, from our 5:30AM class came up with an ‘extremalitious’ new ice cream recipe using whey protein. He says, “Yummy! It’s like healthy ice cream, and you can eat it right before bed. Kinda feels like cheating . . .” I would have to agree :-)
Here’s the frozen protein shake (ice cream) recipe:
Ingredients –
8 oz Vanilla Almond Milk (~90 calories)
1 scoop Chocolate or Vanilla Whey Protein Powder (~90 calories, ~2 grams of fat)
1 tsp. flaxseed oil (~30 calories, ~3.5 grams of fat)
Just pick one of the below optional ingredients:
(optional) 1/2 large banana (~60 calories, ~ 8 grams of sugar)
(optional) 1/2 T. reduced fat peanut butter (~ 40 calories, 3.5-6 grams of fat)
(optional) 1/2 T. black strap molasses — (25 calories, 5 grams of sugar, good source of iron)
Total calories can range from 210 to 270! Be careful on the reduced fat peanut butter since it’s still high in fat especially when adding the other ingredients that contain fat too.
I wouldn’t recommend eating this every night since you could be easily adding an additional 600~ calories throughout the week which would slow down your fat loss results. Have this to reward yourself when you’ve been following my Extreme Burn accelerated, fat-loss eating program and when exercising consistently.
Directions –
1) Blend all in blender to smooth consistency.
2) Pour into a flat Tupperware container (This will speed up the freezing process).
3) Freeze for about 2 hours, until very thick, but not rock solid (varies depending on freezer).
4a) Remove from freezer, let thaw just a little, stir and eat with a spoon!!
4b) If you would like a better consistency, instead of eating it, you can stir it up some more and freeze for one more hour and enjoy!
